His valor and honour aside, it's quite tricky to envision that Superman does not have the ability to really kill the Hulk - although he would never take action. Together with his superspeed, Hulk does not have a shot at landing a punch, and Superman's invulnerability ought to have the ability to defy it if he did get struck.
