Diamonds , Carbon Divine - Or China's CO2 Coal Hell To Us, For the Rest of Time?

How true that a picture is worth ten thousand words. The new color world map by the Royal Netherlands Geographic Institute show the CO2,that is cancer causing carbon coal particles into the troposphere-the air we breath, are most vastly concentrated in east China. These most noxious emissions show as red hot on the clean air map. Next most poisonous air is yellow on the map, down to gray, light blue, and the only clear blue sky on earth is shown dark blue, as in most of Canada and the Sahara desert.

To walk in the filthy air on the streets of Beijing today seems like a walk into hell. Yet, to be in a shop of Chinese antiques is as to cause you to walk quietly, in serene admiration of such elegance, from so far away, and created so long before it was known in the west. From Roman times, it was known that Rome's eastern city of Damascus was actually on the western edge of a silk route to the vast Orient, beyond mighty mountains.

History indicates that the first civilized settlement was at Jericho, some ten thousand years ago. This area, still inside warm weather zones, was north enough to grow wheat, which the hunter gatherers learned to master and farm. And by now, they were domesticating sheep and goats, cows, finding a need for organizational order and duties clearly defined for all.

My father was a Canadian Mountie, one of those Sergeant Preston types, even at times with a sled dog to get into deep native lands in north Canada, where I was born. We were south of polar bears, but only by about five hundred miles: it could get cold in winter! As a matter of fact, dad bunked some times at the home where a young Eric Neilson grew up, before he went on to Hollywood fame.

Chinese antiques history through to now has a fire breathing dragon as the centerpiece of the parade, weaving, bobbing, emitting noise, and most of all fire and smoke. And so it is today, although the dragon breathe is spewing out those smoke stacks we see now on television, as we see the streets of Beijing, and the overwhelming volume of foul CO2 coal emissions, with no filters, pushing into the skies of China, and drifting east.

The arrival of European civilizations into the new and old worlds were a series of momentous events that change the lives of all. It seems always the most adventurous were those who went forward, and we know as in the case of the Vikings, it was often limited land, population growth, too many sons, the most difficult became banned. These banned sons formed groups, and in exile, began their movements out in adventure.

It is such a rich irony that at the first great meeting of humanity moving east and west up out of Africa did first meet, as we know, in east Canada. On the northern tip of the island portion of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador is the place of legend, proven in 1960 as the place where the Vikings did actually land and build mud houses and survey the area and try to make new lives for themselves.

Healthy lifestyles on earth, worst of all in modern coastal China, seems to be getting beyond the capability of many corners of our good mother earth. Most recent digital images in geographical magazines show the red hot zones on earth, that is the most blazingly polluted. China is by far the most polluted country on earth. In contrast, the air of India is still cleaner that the air of Europe or America east of the Mississippi.

Diamonds do really make the world go round, as the old saying says. When on a construction site all is on pause until the man with the diamond drill bit saws through that steel beam or whatever, nothing is going anywhere. This amazing creation from the furnaces of hell inside earth, or the lightning strikes of a benevolent and loving God. We prefer that last part much better.

Chinese antiques wise minds are beyond us, and China, in that while we land men on the moon and may discover cures for cancers as quickly as we make wars; we cannot naturally take a lump of coal and make it into a same sized diamond. Take China, which today has overtaken America as the greatest polluter on earth. So, we know, it is for us to excel in every other natural way we can such as dig it up and burn it clean, as that technology is out there, and is being worked out.
