In recent years a significant income opportunity has arisen with the growth of the Internet and the simultaneous wide availability of digital cameras. There has never been a better time to become a freelance photographer and to sell your digital images online.

Whilst this opportunity was always available to professional photographers, there are no longer any barriers preventing amateur photographers from taking and selling their digital photos as well.
It probably will not come as any great surprise to you to learn that the growth of the Internet has thrown up an unprecedented amount of money making opportunities.

One such opportunity is the demand for digital images.

It used to be that if one wanted to be a commercial photographer they would need an expensive camera, lighting equipment, a range of lenses, lens hoods, light meters, lens covers, a flash system etc etc and maybe their own studio space.
The explosive growth of the Internet has spawned many new markets. One such market is the digital photo market. The growth of online stock photography sites (also known as microstock photography sites) where photographers can submit their digital photos so that others may view and download them for a fee, has created an unprecedented demand for digital photographs.
The explosive growth of the Internet and the corresponding growth in Internet based commerce has created an unprecedented demand for digital images. Why? Because a picture tells a thousand stories. A Web designer can convey his message much more easily and effectively when combining text with images, than by just text alone.

This of course has created a situation where the demand for digital images is far exceeding the supply.
The massive growth of the Internet and the corresponding growth in Internet related commerce has created an enormous market for digital images. This in turn has created an opportunity for photographers other than those who are already professional to really cash in by selling their digital photos online.

Of course there is more to being a digital photographer than just pointing and shooting.
With its high Internet profile, eBay is certainly one avenue that you need to be checking out when you are looking to go about selling your photos online. The first question that needs to be asked however is, what are the best types of photos to take in order to make sales on eBay? This article will address that question as well as other things that you need to be aware of when selling photos on eBay.
Whilst there is an undoubted opportunity at present to make a substantial income by selling your digital photos online there are still some crucial steps that need to be observed in order to convert those pictures that are taken into pictures that are sold.

In my experience I have found that successful commercial photography comes down to 30% photography and 70% marketing.
If there is one maxim that has continued to remain true about the Internet it is that "Content is King". The fact that website owners need fresh and relevant content to keep browsers coming back to their website means that there is a secondary market for content creation.

This of course has created a wonderful opportunity for freelance writers who can spend their time creating content for others and be paid for it.
What you don't want to be doing as a freelance writer is spending your time flogging your wares in all the wrong places. You don't want to be fussing around putting your resume on monster.com or other types of job boards. There are very few places that post ads for freelancers on actual job boards. Actually I've found that post for jobs on these writing sites usually come to less than five a month.
You may or may not have heard this before - On the Internet: Content is King. Or to put it another way: the websites that deliver the most up-to-date and relevant content also tend to be the most popular. And if the website(s) in question have a commercial aspect to them, which is most of them; then popularity goes onto equate with increased income for the website owner.
