To live healthy lifestyles we are learning again the wisdom of the One Hundred Mile Rule: if a natural food product is grown within this range from you, and to your plate, the healthier you.

And yet you and we know there are exceptions to every rule. And we delight in this example from healthy lifestyles books between Ben and Frank. Because, these two friends had a strong honest interest in the historical merit.
Ancient Greece lifted the souls of men of imagination and thoughts they had wanted to express for ages. But in ancient Egypt there was no time for that; all rules and thoughts of any worth were by decree by the reigning Pharaoh of Egypt.

Greece was a land that, like Rome next door did have a winter when the people could not grow crops and had to be able to survive an occasional winter blast unknown in fortunate Egypt.
Antique History Books have told us so much about the wisdom of the ancients. When advice has been given on how to reach a state of bliss or happiness, every faith has had the way unique to it, and the followers who follow the acceptance of their ancestors.

What is the road to bliss? And then eternal salvation? Each faith has developed an answer as it interprets the Jewish Old Testament Bible, the Christian Bible, The Koran, the words of Buddha, or any other ancient or modern healers.
Antique history books discuss happiness and the state of joy that can be created on earth, and in the mind.

As one who meditates and as a follower of Transcendental Meditation this has been a week of reflection among those who meditate. Maharishi was not perfect, no man was, but to follow his way to meditation was modern and perfect for the times.
Diamond net auction bargains are now part of family life. Until recent years the tight cartel control kept a small supply of diamonds to market each year, all down through channels until it was in your jewelry store window at a price far above what we could afford.

What a change a decade can make. Massive new diamond finds in the vast rock basin of northern Canada have changed it all.
Diamonds inspire greatness even in how they burst out of the earth in such a rich rare streak of greatness.

Diamonds came into our lives with the miracle of South Africa, with the unusual ancient rocks. Dynamic men amalgamated and created the mighty diamond monopolies over diamonds, which they held for over a century.

Now they have had to learn to share.
Diamonds and gemstones are being discovered and dug out of the ground up in the north of Canada. And this is very good news in many ways.

One is that these new rare tight pipes of diamond discoveries are easily controlled in a narrow area. And that these new additions to the shrinking world supply of essential industrial diamonds are in a democracy where good governance is far different from the blood diamond situations in war torn Africa.
Diamonds and gemstones have held a magic aura over the minds of great men and their women, who would find themselves adorned after each new victory. And to the victor goes the spoils, down through history.

And so it can seem we have not made all that progress with all the inflamed fury between some peoples in some places in the world.

And yet in many areas of the world the changes happening to free the minds of people, and in particular women in many areas where they have been withheld basic education and have therefore been subject to mastery by their men, who have come to carry this into their interpretation of their book of faith.
The recent news may have been historic. As Emerson noted, while he and his friend Thoreau would read and discuss the ideas of the ages, others would shout loudly about another train derailment, or an uprising in the west, and other events that make the headlines for that day, but will be forgotten soon enough. Some profound things are changing.

Emerson wrote about this with wry wit, about custom being the hobgoblins of little minds.
The journals of Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus and Captain James Cook are inspiring, and speak of men of adventure in their blood and who must go over that mountain, or get into a boat and sail off and see if there really is an edge to the world, or diamonds and gemstones for riches and glory.

And of course there was always the need to find riches.
