When people think fiber, images of cavemen eating bark off a tree may enter their minds. Just the word "fiber" scares taste buds and could even cause some to utter "ugh," but the fact of the matter is; fiber isn't all that bad. In fact, fiber found in food today can even taste good!

It's no secret that fiber is a must when talking about a healthy diet.
Linseed is a product of the Flax plant (Linum usitatissimum). Nearly everyone knows some of the uses of this marvelous plant, such as its use as a boiled oil used in oil based paints, glazing putties for window applications and as a wood grain protector/enhancer.

What you may not know is that raw seeds, have many health and nutritional benefits.
If you look inside my medicine cabinet, you will see why Big Pharma might broke with too many guys like me around. The big pharmaceutical companies have to hate guys like me. Let me explain.

I had to check my medicine cabinet after my older sister recently sent me one of those emails about baby boomers getting older, and the stuff they supposedly are all taking as they age, or need to take.
The placebo effect is a powerful well established scientific truth. It means what we focus on, we receive. What is held in mind, manifests. Wherever attention goes, energy flows. What we resist, will persist.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to promote disease awareness, or continue the fight against disease. I don't want to be aware of, or be fighting, cancer (or any other disease).
Diets can achieve amazing results if followed faithfully, and here are three excellent ones: a cleansing diet, a health diet and a reducing diet.

A Cleansing Diet

There are several good ways to cleanse the system. One way is to stay from five to ten days on a mono diet, that is, to eat as much as one likes of any one of the following:

(a) Watermelon - especially good for cleansing the kidneys.
Did you know that whole grains can cut the inflammatory disease risk?

Researchers in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in June 2007 found that people who eat proper amounts of whole grains are less likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and other inflammatory conditions, which certainly is a good healthy living concept.

Researchers say that those who ate at least four to seven servings of whole grains per week were 35 per cent less likely to die of an inflammatory disorder than those who rarely or never ate them.
Garlic and onions are more than just an ingredient in tonight's dinner. Garlic and onions also help fight infections and heal the human body. People far back in history were well aware that both of these foods had medicinal. They were consumed on a regular basis in order to protect themselves from getting sick and also as a way to help them heal quicker in the event that they did come down with an infection.
The first myth is middle-age spread is inevitable. This one says as we age, we lose muscle, become more sedentary, all while taking in the same amount or more calories, so we gain weight. Funny, this has not happen to Jack LaLanne, nor to my mother, who lived to 97 and was very active her whole life, nor countless other active people who take care of themselves.
While a liver overburdened by fat, salt, and sugar defeats its role in metabolizing fats, having a healthy liver is one of the keys to optimal weight loss and maintenance. This article recommends life saving tips on how to better your liver in lieu of a sexier looking figure without the hassles of going to the gym.

Look, the fact that you're still fat has nothing to do with how much you diet and or excercise!

It's actually your liver and colon, silly.
The body needs the nutrients provided by raw vegetables. Unfortunately, cooking foods tends to destroy much of the nutritional value in regards to the vitamins and minerals inherent in the food. One option that is delicious and simple to do is to turn your vegetables into drinks by juicing them. In case you are concerned that necessary fiber will be lost by breaking down the vegetables in a juicer, that will not happen as plenty of fiber will be retained even in the juice state.
