We have heard of many audio books in many mediums, but how much do we really know about them? They have been around from a very long time, whether we have used them or not. However, thanks to the MP3 player and the busy lives we lead that they have seen a surge in popularity these days.

Audio books are providing a great opportunity for people to gain new skills and information, or to just relax without the extra time and effort needed to read a book from cover to cover.

You get used to reading books while in school, college and even post graduation. Once you are out of school and join the rat race of competition and making a living you tend to forget that you were once a voracious reader and loved books the most. Once you have made some thing out of your life and settled to a comfortable life to read the thought reoccurs.

Buying used books was not always in fashion. On the contrary it was not considered acceptable and was looked down upon. College student and book-lovers made clandestine trips to stores that sold second hand books. In todays world, we find that we are unable to find time to indulge ourselves with our favorite pastime or hobby. You would find people who love literature but then reading does not interest them. Surprised? Our world has become digitized mainly due to our dependence on computers and also the availability of everything in a digitized format be it songs or books.

Out of all the genres of books that have been written, science fiction seems to be one that is a class apart from all the others. The feeling towards the genre is either one of fanatic following and great enjoyment or extreme hatred. Those who have a natural penchant for unearthly objects and unsolved mysteries tend it would seem to get addicted at a relatively young age, which could be as young as 7 to 8 years.

Even though reading as a habit seems to be dying slowly, there are still many people who love to snuggle in bed with a good book. I inculcated the habit of reading very early in life. There were a couple of reasons responsible for that.

One, I was an only child and did not have man friends in the neighborhood to play with and secondly and more importantly, my father had a four bookshelves full of books.

Audio books are good friends of all who want to read but may not have the time to do so. You can listen to them anytime and anywhere to learn or to entertain. Imagine an avid reader who keeps himself up-to-date with the latest books of interest in spite of a watertight schedule. How would he be able to do that? The answer could lie in listening to audio literature while driving to his workplace, walking in the shopping mall, or during break times at work.

If you are planning to buy the latest books on the market, you have two ways in which you can do so. One is to go to the bookstores. When you arrive at a bookstore you will find a large range of books on display. It is not easy for you to select a book you want immediately.

It will take you some time before you can lay your hands on that book.

It might not seem that significant for all people to read classic books. Are not they just for specialists? Actually, no. The very reason these books become classics is due to the fact they are for all people. In addition, letting children read classic books is just like your are investing a good investment for their knowledge.

Classic children's books have proven themselves to be worthy for kids because they have remained popular despite the passing of time and still continue to give important information for them.

If you are a book lover then you will surely empathize with me when I say that shopping in book stores, especially the popular ones can be extremely harrowing. Gone are the days when readers had respect for Literature and handled books with precaution and ensuring that it remained spotless for years. An experience in a book store (and God save you if there is a book sale) is fraught with jostles, chaos and the experience of never being able to find the right book in the right section.
